(The Brother Brennan Centre)
Rounded Rectangle: 2007-Winter Program
Starting in winter 2007-2008 the Brother Brennan Environmental Education Centre is available for groups wanting a backpacking adventure. In winter the final 6 km of woods road to the centre are unplowed, making it ideal for skiing or snowshoeing. Thanks to ‘Mountain Equipment Co-op’, twenty pairs of snowshoes are available on loan for this trip. Once at the Centre “The Lodge” and “A Frame” buildings are available for sleeping shelter and program activities. Both buildings are equipped with woodstoves and there are two outhouses. There is also plenty of open space for pitching tents.
The Centre has a permanent orienteering course set up on its trails with orienteering maps available to download from this website.
Other activities could include (ice) fishing, shelter or quinzee building, outdoor cooking, star watching, wilderness skill development and tracking.
